20 year 8 pupils at Tadcaster Grammar School have successfully passed their Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music grade 1 theory exam. Students were taught and entered for the exam by the Team Leader for Performing Arts Samantha Buckley who said she is “so proud of these excellent results which include 8 distinctions. I’m especially impressed with Gabriel Owens who achieved full marks in the exam”. Students are now going on to study for their grade two exam which they hope to sit later in the year.

Four students were entered for Piano exams just before Christmas – William Johnson, Sarah Handley, Maisie Priestley and Isobel Ward. They passed with flying colours and with outstanding marks. The examiner commented on how musical their performances were and praised their attention to detail and accuracy.
