GCSE
This has been an extremely successful year for Year 11 students at Tadcaster Grammar School. They have certainly risen to the challenge of the new GCSEs in English and Maths, where achievements are measured using the new 9-1 grading system. Eighty per cent of students gained a grade 4 or higher in Maths and 88% gained a grade 4 or higher in English (grade 4 is equivalent to the old C grade). More than a quarter of all results in these subjects were graded 9-7 (equivalent to the old A*/A). Results were equally impressive across all other subject areas, with more than 30% of all exams taken graded as A* or A.
Congratulations to all our students, many of whom have returned to TGS for their chosen post-16 courses; we wish all our students every success for the future.’

A level
This has been yet another extremely successful year for Sixth Form students at Tadcaster Grammar School. We are delighted to report that more than two thirds of all A levels taken were graded at A*, A or B, which reflects the wonderful performance of our students. It has been wonderful to see the vast majority of students rewarded by achieving their first choice of University. There have also been some notable individual successes, including entrance for four students to Oxford University, as well as University of St Andrews, Durham and Loughborough, amongst many others. A growing number have also secured higher degree apprenticeships in business and finance.
Congratulations to all our students; we wish them every success for the future
